DNA’s president and CEO Riitta Tiuraniemi has said the competitive situation for the Finnish operator remains tight.
The company increased half-year sales to €191.5 million from €178.7 million in 2011, but Tiuraniemi warned the impact of the weakening economic situation would be slow and post-cyclical in the telecommunications market.
DNA’s fixed-line subscription base fell to 1,034,000 subscriptions telephone, broadband and cable television from 1,036,000 a year earlier.
The terrestrial TV network was completed on June 20 when the TV transmitter in Palomäki, Kouvola, was switched on. The network covers 85% of households with a version of the Welho cable TV offer.
DNA recently acquired a 20 per cent share in Booxmedia. A new service has been introduced with Booxmedia that enables customers to store selected television content on their smartphones and tablets.
