Mid Europa Partners (MEP)-backed Serbia Broadband (SBB) has invested around RS11 billion (€406.5 million) in the last 10 years, according Dragica Pilipovic-Chaffey, the company’s director.
Quoted in the local press, she added that most of this amount had been allocated to infrastructure and that a further €23 million had been allocated for this year.
Pilipovic-Chaffey also said that the company was now offering the fastest internet service in Serbia, with access speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and that in total around 750,000 homes receive its services, which include cable TV, internet and DTH (Total TV).
It has also recently launched a fixed line telephony service.
Pilipovic-Chaffey also said that as SBB’s network now covers most of Serbia, investment would be focused on digitisation, HD services and new products.
SBB accounts for around 46% of Serbia’s cable market and also has a presence in the cable markets of Slovenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
