Germany’s Sky Go has launched on the iPhone and iPod Touch with a slate of new series and movies from Sky Atlantic.
The over-the-top pay-TV companion is available in Germany and Austria. It offers customers flexible access to Sky’s sports, movies and series content on the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, online, and Xbox 360.
With the expansion of Sky Go to the iPhone and iPods viewers have now access to the TV premiere of the second season of a number of HBO series such as Game of Thrones, The Wire, The Sopranos, Entourage and blockbusters like Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows – Part 2, Hangover 2, Water for Elephants, Almanya – Welcome to Germany and The Green Lantern.
Sky programme director Gary Davey said in a statement: “Sky is the first entertainment company that presents a comprehensive multi-platform strategy. In the future the best series and blockbuster from our linear programming are now available on Sky Go – a message that will appeal to all film and series fans.”
The Sky Go iPhone app will also add more sports: Sky Sport HD 1 and 2 and Sky Sport Extra HD will be available via WiFi and 3G.
The update of the Sky Go app is available now in the App Store as a free download. During the first Quarter of 2012 Sky Go was accessed more than six million times.
