Steady performance from Cyfrowy Polsat

Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat has maintained its position as the fourth largest DTH platform in Europe, ending the first quarter with 3,553,341 subscribers, or 2.4% more than a year earlier.

Of these, 2,797,114 (+2.6%) opted for is Family and 756,227 (+1.6%) Mini packages.

ARPU in the first quarter amounted to PLN38.9 (€9.1), or 5.7% more than a year earlier.

Churn rate meanwhile decreased from 9.6% to 9% in the year to March 31.

Cyfrowy Polsat also had 88,674 broadband internet and 143,651 mobile telephony subscribers as of the end of the first quarter.

Significantly, the company points out that as of 2011, around 80% of its sold or leased set-top boxes were manufactured in its own factory.

Cyfrowy Polsat’s revenues in Q1 were PLN674,127,000, compared to PLN402,779,000 a year earlier. Its net profit was PLN205,109,000 (PLN76,398,000 in Q1 2011).
