Orange is to close its sports network as of June 30 with its 400,000 subscribers being migrated to the Al Jazeera sports channels in the French market.
The new channels will be priced at €11.
According to Les Echos, the last game from the French football league will be broadcast on May 20.
The move follows the sale of a stake in the Orange Cinema Series to the Canal+ Group, which recently began the relay of the suite on the CanalSat platform.
Last year, Al Jazeera turned pout to be the surprise bidder for the live rights of the French premier football league, the Ligue 1. The broadcaster won the rights to two matches a week of the L1, which will start on August 3.
