The DTG has published an updated version of the seventh edition of the D-Book, the technical specification for Freeview HD and connected TV products and services. New features in the Freeview HD specification include:
- Enhanced EPG with the ability to go both backwards and forwards, allows a viewer to navigate to a programme’s webpage or view a trailer for the programme
- Remote Booking enables viewers to book recordings or set reminders from a website or application
- Broadcast Record Lists enhancements
- Clearer reference of the ETSI MHEG specification to drive international harmonisation
Ofcom has released its consultation into the future of the 600/700MHz bands. There is pressure on the UHF frequencies caused by increasing demand for broadband.
