The subscriber tally on Orange’s digital TV services in France and Poland continues to climb, with a 24.8% increase in subscribers during 2011.
Orange TV closed the year with 5.138 million subscribers to its satellite and IPTV services. France continues to hold the rump of the subscriber base with 4.374 customers as of December 31, 2011, an increase of 25% year-on-year. The figure represents around a third of Orange’s broadband customers.
In Poland, the number of digital TV customers (ADSL and satellite) rose sharply to 636,000, a year-on-year increase of 17%.
An upgrade programme has been underway with some customers being in receipt of both new Livebox routers and set-top boxes.
The departure of VP for new business, Xavier Coutur, earlier this month marked a formal change in Orange strategy towards that of delivery and away from content.
