Turner Broadcasting System, Germany has announced the launch of its 24/7 female skewed channel Glitz* in both SD and HD versions will take place on May 8.
Glitz* is Turner’s first lifestyle and entertainment brand to include prime time series, films, talk shows, reality shows, biographies, original content and concerts. The channel is already available in Latin America, where it launched in May 2011, and now makes its European debut in Germany. The channel will be offered with a dual soundtrack, in German and English, if available.
The new Turner channel is set to compete with the recently launched Sixx, the female skewed channel from the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. Its tagline is “Hier scheint die Sonne” (The sun shines here).
Kabel Deutschland (KDG) will be the first platform to carry the channel. The HD version of Glitz* will be part of the KDG’s Kabel Digital Home HD offer.
TBS Germany already has four channels available, TNT Serie, TNT Film, Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
