The Liberty Global-owned DTH platform freeSAT plans to focus on the provision of HD channels in 2012.
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Digizone, its head Jiri Kraval added that it also plans to switch entirely to Irdeto conditional access in the future, with subscribers being provided new cards free of charge.
Without providing figures, Kraval also said that freeSAT’s operation in the Czech Republic had turned the corner and was now again gaining subscribers.
freeSAT, which is also present in Slovakia, was known as UPC Direct up until this autumn and still retains its original name in Hungary.
