PBS UK has signed Red Bee Media to deliver a suite of broadcast service to the channel that launches on November 1.
Included in the multi-year contract are media management, playout and continuity services. Carriage on Sky is already confirmed with the Red Bee statement informing: “carriage negotiations are ongoing with Virgin Media”.
Red Bee will also provide EPG listings, writing and producing programme information both for Sky and the PBS UK website.
Bill Patrizio, CEO of Red Bee Media, said: “This deal really demonstrates our ability to deliver first-rate, innovative media solutions that continually evolve to meet our partners’ needs.”
A joint venture between PBS Distribution and the Canadian entrepreneur David Lyons, PBS will include the Ken Burns documentary Prohibition, together with its Nova science and Frontline documentary strands as part of a mix of news, sports, documentary and science.
