The Bulgarian DTH platform Vivacom TV ended June with over 70,000 subscribers, according to its operator, the incumbent telco Vivacom (BTC).
Vivacom TV was launched in September last year and operates in a market also served by Bulsatcom and Total TV.
Distributed by Intelsat 12 at 45 degrees East, it offers viewers a total of over 70 channels in three packages.
In a statement on its half-year results, Vivacom also said that it has launched a new service providing high-speed optical internet that it expects to have over 100,000 subscribers in the capital, Sofia, by the end of the year.
In addition, it plans to invest BGN600 million (€306.7 million) on developing its infrastructure over the next three years.
Vivacom’s main growth in H1 was in the mobile sector, where revenues rose by 17% year-on-year. However, its total profits slumped to BGN19.2 million.
