A dispute has developed between the leading Lithuanian commercial broadcaster LNK and Init, one of the country’s largest cable operators.
According to VZ, Init has stopped distributing LNK and its proprietary channels TV1, Info TV and Liuks in the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Visaginas in a move affecting some 100,000 subscribers.
However, only analogue, not digital, versions of the channels have been withdrawn.
The dispute is over the size of carriage fees and alleged manipulation of subscriber numbers.
The move is estimated to have lost LNT around 10-15% of the Lithuanian cable market.
It will not affect the approximately 20,000 Init subscribers watching digital services.
