UPC Nederland will add the new Dutch music channels Slam!TV, BravaNL and TV 538 to its extended digital tier on Monday, July 4. Also set to launch on that day is TLC, with more channels being added in September
BravaNL specialises in classical music, ballet and operas, while Slam!TV and TV 538 are youth oriented music channels and both offsprings of a radio station, Slam!FM and Radio 538 respectively.
On Monday, July 4, Discovery will launch its TLC in The Netherlands with a fully dedicated Dutch feed. TLC will share a channel with Animal Planet between 6pm and 2am, guaranteeing full analogue and digital distribution across all platforms in the country. Discovery is also replacing its Discovery Travel & Living channel for Investigation Discovery on that date.
UPC has said it will also cease to distribute TMC (Turner Movie Channel) and the Hallmark Channel. According to the operator, public response to TMC is so low it has decided to drop the channe.
The removal of Hallmark is due to the fact that the channel will stop broadcasting all together.
