The Polish public broadcaster TVP has launched its first internet-delivered thematic channel.
Known as TVP Parlament, it offers coverage of proceedings in the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and Senate, as well as both plenary and committee sessions and the work of the European Parliament.
TVP Parlament’s coverage will be extended after July 1, when Poland assumes the presidency of the European Council.
It will be able to simultaneously carry up to 25 videos from various halls in the Sejm and three from the European Parlament.
Commenting on the launch, TVP’s president Juliusz Braun said: “ this is truly a revolutionary moment, not least because by launching TVP Parlament we are fully entering the digital world.”
He added although TVP Parlament is the broadcaster’s sixth thematic channel, it is in reality the first in a completely different dimension.”
