Orange has introduced a new application for the iPad that offers subscribers access to an initial 21 channels.
It follows the earlier introduction of an iPhone app that has already received 1.8 million downloads – though there is no indication of actual usage.
Features of the iPad app include access to current and future programme schedules, full screen mode, and the ability to zapp through channels.
TF1, France 2, France 3, France 5, Arte, Direct 8, TMC, NT1, NRJ12, France 4, Direct Star, TV5 Monde, France Ô, LCP Public Sénat, BFM TV, i-Télé, LCI Mobile, France 24 français, CNN, Orange sport info and NRJ Hits are included in the channel line-up that Orange is planning to extend to 60.
The application can be used by Orange customers with an internet subscription, through the Orange Livebox, or as part of an Orange iPad subscription by 3G or Wi-fi from any box, regardless of internet service provider. There is no need for an Orange TV subscription.
Packages range from a day pass at €8 to a monthly no commitment €39.
