The Dutch premium sports channel Eredivisie Live reported 565,000 subscribers at the end of the 2010/11 football season, representing a net gain of 100,000.
The channel, which is jointly owned by Endemol and the Dutch national football association KNVB, was launched in 2008. It specialises in live coverage of the Dutch premier league, but has since added many other football competitions, as well as dedicated club channels from the various member clubs.
The channel was originally launched because the combined offer for the live rights were considered not high enough by the clubs.
Turnover of the channel is now reported to be around €100 million per season, of which between €35-40 million is paid out to the clubs.
