The Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska has bought a 100% stake in the company Media Operator for an undisclosed fee.
Media Operator’s interests include Malopolska Telewizja Kablowa (MTK) Star-TV, a cable operator in the South Eastern town in Tarnów that passes over 26,000 homes and provides services to several thousand.
Commenting on the acquisition, Multimedia Polska’s president Andrzej Rogowski said it was in keeping with the company’s strategy of both building up its own networks and buying others.
It is currently constructing fibre networks in a number of cities including Tarnów, Plock, Szczecin, Torun and the capital, Warsaw.
Multimedia Polska is the third largest cable operator in Poland after UPC Polska and Vectra.
