Canal+ Cyfrowy, the operator of the Polish DTH platform Cyfra+, saw its revenues grow by 7% to PLN1,279 million (€316.4 million) in 2010.
At the same time, its EBITDA rose to PLN250 million, or PLN6 million more than in 2009.
Commenting on the results, the company’s president Jacques Aymar de Roquefeuil said that being without any debts and in a strong financial position, Canal+ Cyfrowy would be able to focus on long-term growth and investment.
This will first and foremost include more premium content (HD and 3D), new in-house productions and the best quality programming.
Just last week (March 18), Cyfra+ introduced a unique product offering viewers all its Canal+ channels, including those in HD.
According to de Roquefeuil, it was in response to subscribers’ growing interest in premium services (currently around 50% of its portfolio) and increased sales of its Multiroom and VOD products.
