Dreampark TV middleware for Faroese Telecom

March 21, 2011 09.46 Europe/London By Robert Briel

TV middleware provider Dreampark has announced they will provide their TV middleware solution to Faroese Telecom IPTV service on the Faroe Islands.

Faroese Telecom will deploy the Dreamgallery HD client. “Our partnership with Dreampark means that we will be able to add more functionality and interactivity to the TV service we already provide. Faroese Telecom has been looking for a state of the art deployable solution and has found that in Dreamgalllery. We are now able to offer a more diverse TV experience to our viewers, adding more niche content and on-demand features,” said Edvard i Skorini, Faroese Telecom, in a statement.

Faroese Telecom is the state-owned, incumbent telecommunications operator of the Faroe Islands, as well as the digital terrestrial television operator in the Faroe Islands. The Dreampark TV middleware will be used on the company’s IPTV network, Televarpid.

The Faroe Islands are a group of islands north of the British Isles. Together with Greenland, they form part of the Kingdom of Denmark. The 18 islands have approximately 48,000 inhabitants, of which 13,000 live in Torshavn, the capital, and 5,000 in Klaksvik, the second largest city.
