Eurosport has launched a new version of its iPhone app, speeding up navigation, adding goal alerts for top European football and rugby leagues and adding additional text commentaries results, news and fixtures. Nine language versions are available together with an international English edition.
“Eurosport always strives to innovate and provide quality content across all media devices,” said Eurosport chairman and CEO Laurent-Eric Le Lay. “While TV is our core business, we are also leading the way on online and mobile sports platforms. Eurosport’s apps are available on the most popular devices, from Android to iPhone, and their popularity proves we are giving the global sports fan what he wants, when he wants it and where he wants it.”
In addition to the iPhone app, which has already received 3 million downloads alone, a new version for Google Android has also been released. There are also versions for the iPad and the Blackberry.
A premium version of the iPhone app, available in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Austria offers live streaming of the Eurosport channels.
