The Czech transmission company Radiokomunikace (CRa) has strengthened its position in the country’s DTT marketplace by acquiring the Czech Digital Group (CDG) from the Dutch SP D Corporation for an undisclosed fee.
CRa has until now operated the first multiplex for the public broadcaster CT, along with the second, which carries a number of commercial services including TV Nova, Prima TV and TV Barrandov.
The third multiplex, operated the CDG, carries Z1 and Public TV, while the fourth, operated by Telefónica O2, is still functioning on an experimental basis and carries CT HD, Nova HD and O2 Info.
The deal follows only a few days after CRa was itself bought by Macquarie from the Falcon Group for a reported €574 million.
