Cable is the most favoured method of viewing TV signals in Latvia, according a study undertaken by IZZI, the country’s second largest operator.
In total, 44% of viewers in the study stated a preference for cable, with 25% opting for DTT (up from 14% in 2009) and 17% DTH (18% in 2009).
Furthermore, 31% said they were satisfied with 25-50 channels, while 25% felt 11-20 channels was sufficient for their needs.
While 62% said they would like to watch HD channels, only 5% were willing to pay extra for the privilege.
Although cable services were received by 49% of Latvians in 2009, the figure was down on previous years due to strong competition in the marketplace.
