Chellomedia has announced it will reposition its Sport1 multiplex of channels in The Netherlands to create more visibility with its viewers.
The six channels will be rebranded as Sport1 Live, Sport1 Golf, Sport1 Tennis, Sport1 Extra 1, Sport1 Extra 2 and Sport1 Extra 3. Sport1 Live will broadcast all major live events including football from the German Bundesliga, the English Premiere League and the UEFA Champions League, but also tennis, golf and NBA basketball.
Sport1 Golf will concentrate on golf coverage from all major European and American Tours, and in addition the Challenge Tour, Senior Tour and the Asian Tour as well as the daily magazine show Golfing World.
Sport1 Tennis will broadcasts live tennis 38 weeks a year with coverage comprising of Wimbledon (on multiple channels), Roland Garros and all tournaments in the ATP 1000 series, as well as the most important games from the ATP 500 and 250 series.
Sport1 Extra 1, Sport1 Extra 2 and Sport1 Extra 3 will be used for broadcasting multiple games from the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League, the Bundesliga or the NBA.
Sport1 also has one single HD channel, Sport1 HD. The full multiplex is available on most Dutch cable nets, but on satellite only two Sport1 channels are available.
