The Portuguese cableco Cabovisão, once considered a heavy weight around the neck of Canadian parent Cogeco, has returned to subscriber positivity.
Cogeco’s fourth-quarter fiscal 2010 reports to August 31, 2010 show the addition of 96,000 RGUs following a series of subscriber retention and acquisition activities.
The number of Basic Cable service customers grew by 1,591 customers compared to a loss of 5,318 customers in previous year. However, the number of new Digital Television subscribers at 12,017 was half that of the equivalent period in 2009. The telephony business also gained with an extra 4,210 customers against 862 one year previous.
