TV ad spend in Romania amounted to around €160 million in the first nine months of this year.
Financiarul reports that although the figure should reach €200 million for 2010 as a whole, the country’s difficult economic situation is likely to be reflected in a reduction of spend of between 5-10% during the rest of this year and at least the first half of 2011.
This is in contrast to the first half of this year, when TV ad spend was 10% higher than in the same period in 2009.
Advertising industry sources say that the first half of 2011 could see discounts on TV advertising due to low demand.
