
Nolo Letele
Nolo Letele, the current Group CEO of MultiChoice South Africa, is to become the executive chairperson of the Multichoice South Africa Holdings Board. He will take up the role of October 1, when Imtiaz Patel, at present CEO of SuperSport International, will become the new Group CEO.
In a statement the company said the executive appointment would enable it “to meet the challenges faced by the underlying entities” – a reference both to satellite pay-TV rivals and the launch of South Africa’s DTT services.
Letele joined M-Net in 1990 and has held a number of senior positions within the MIH group. Prior to that he was chief engineer at the Lesotho National Broadcasting Service, where he began his career in 1974.
Current chairman Mandla Langa is retiring from the board, but is being retained as a consultant.
Patel joined SuperSport in November 1999 as director of enterprises and regulatory affairs. He was appointed as CEO of SuperSport South Africa In March 2005, and as CEO of SuperSport International in May 2007.
