Dutch cablers take Eredivisie Live HD

August 9, 2010 06.59 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Dutch cable operators Ziggo, Caiway and UPC, as well as the FTTH provider Glashart Media, have started carrying the live football channel Eredivisie Live HD on their networks. Negotiations are still under way with the IPTV platforms KPN and Tele 2 and DTH service Canal Digitaal.

Eredivisie Live HD is a simulcast of Eredivisie Live 1, one of a multiplex of four channels offering live coverage of all Dutch Eredivisie football matches as well as other matches for the KNVB Cup and Jupiler League. The broadcaster has also said it will soon launch its catch up TV service Eredivisie Live Gemist.

Eredivisie Live has also added programming from the dedicated Club TV channels from 14 clubs, PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord, ADO, AZ, De Graafschap, FC Groningen, sc Heerenveen, Heracles Almelo, NAC Breda, FC Twente, FC Utrecht, Vitesse and Willem II.
