The Czech public broadcaster CT plans to launch a fifth channel within the next two years, according to Milan Fridrich, the station’s news director.
Quoted in HN, he added that it would be an internet-only service, offering programming from its four existing channels, along with additional content.
Fridrich also said that CT has to strengthen its regional news output and cannot ignore technological innovations such as those being seen in the mobile sector.
CT is currently undergoing major restructuring. Aside from a number of personnel changes, it will see each four of its channels come under the control of a single director, with a further director having overall control of the channels.
