CONNECTED TV SUMMIT – LONDON. Mediaset is ready to exploit the hybrid broadcast and broadband capabilities of its horizontal DTT platform, according to Angelo Petazzi, the head of the company’s DTT Content Factory.
He added that the first Mediaset on demand HBB is expected to launch by the end of this year, by which time there will be some 500,000 ‘Gold Label’ connected devices, including set-top boxes and IDTVs, deployed in Italy.
Mediaset has used interactive broadcast applications since 2003, employing the Multimedia Home Platform (MHP) standard.
