Nearly half of all Hungarian homes receiving subscription services now opt for digital TV, according to the latest data published by the country’s National Communications Authority (NHH).
It shows that as of the end of March, 1.210 million, or 48.2% of the 3 million homes, subscribed to digital TV. This was 32,000 more than a month earlier, when the figure stood at 47.2%.
Digital cable and IPTV subscriptions at the end of March stood at 435,000 (up from 421,000 a month earlier), while satellite stood at 776,000 (757,000).
Although UPC was the overall market leader, its share fell 31.5% to 31.2% in March, while second placed T-Home saw its rise from 22.8% to 23.4%.
