ANGA Cable 2010 – Cologne. In its closing report, ANGA said it ended with a record number of exhibitors and attendees. For the first time 15,000 trade visitors attended the trade show and convention for cable, broadband and satellite; an increase of 10% compared to 2009. There were 395 exhibitors from 31 countries, last year the number was 383. The congress attracted 1,500 visitors.
“With their modern HFC networks, cable operators have a competitive broadband infrastructure,” said Thomas Braun, pesident of the Association of German Cable Operators (ANGA) in a statement. “Deployment of the DOCSIS 3.0 standard allows bandwidths of over 100 Mbps. With this, we will lead the field for all kinds of imaginable services and programme offerings. Also, cable has the footprint, capacity and customer base to become the strongest force to drive digital offerings’ growth and innovation.”
Herbert Strobel, Chairman of the Satellite & Cable Trade Association within the German Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry ZVE, expressed himself highly pleased with the show: “Again, taking stock of this year’s ANGA Cable is impressive: high-quality business contacts, high level of international exhibitors and visitors, and a truly upbeat, positive atmosphere. ANGA Cable has re-confirmed its leading position in Europe and will remain prime choice for the members of our trade association.”
ANGA Cable 2011 will take place on May 3 – 5, 2011 in Cologne.
