Televes to show next gen headends

April 27, 2010 14.13 Europe/London By Robert Briel

ANGA Cable 2010: Stand D-21.

Televes will show its next generation T.0X digital headends, which promise maximum efficiency in terms of service power consumption. These are designed for the distribution of all current modulation standards, incorporating a series of new features which make the professional installers’ work that much easier, allowing them to carry out fully customised set-ups. The company will also be presenting its new Neuron software, used in the remote set-up and control of T.0X modules, via an intuitive interface which may be accessed through any LAN or WAN IP network.

The Televes booth will also be the setting for the launch of new solutions designed to extend state-of-the-art fibre optic broadband telecom services to the home. Within this service-focused framework, Televes will be presenting new software for the company’s H45 handheld field strength meters. Televes continues to extend the range of applications available for this piece of equipment, the first of its kind to feature digital processing and which was recently fully updated to allow 1080p-format MPEG-4 demodulation – Full HD.

For the digital home Televes will launch the Coax-Data system. This allows local networks to be set up for the widespread distribution of television, data and internet services via coaxial and electrical cable (PLC). This technology represents a radiation-free alternative to wireless solutions, offering the advantages associated with ultrafast broadband as well as very stable, robust and secure connections. It also eradicates the need for additional wiring, as it makes use of the existing coaxial and electrical network already installed in homes and offices.

Televes’ participation at ANGA Cable 2010 will also mean the presence of the HDTV Tour in the vicinity of the fairgrounds. The tour got underway a year ago and has already traveled over 30,000 kilometres, visiting 115 cities and welcoming more than 3,000 visitors. Spain, Portugal, the UK, Ireland and France are the countries the Tour HDTV mobile workshop has already passed through.
