The Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT ended Q1 with 108,500 subscribers to its GALA-branded IPTV and DTT services, or almost 37% more than 12 months earlier. At the same time, the number of broadband internet subscribers rose by 5% to 319,300, while the company’s share of Lithuania’s internet access services in terms of revenue stood at 39.3%.
TEO LT allocated LTL19.1 million (€5.53 million) for investments in the first quarter, the majority (LTL13.9 million) being for expansion of the core network and development of the next generation fibre-optic network.
The company’s total consolidated revenue for Q1 amounted to LTL192 million, down from LTL205.2 million a year earlier.
EBITDA was meanwhile down from LTL94 million to LTL81.4 million and the net profit from LTL43.5 million to LTL43 million.
The almost identical net profitability to that in 2009 should allow the company to maintain and – in the case of FTTH – even raise investments this year.
