Turkish DTH platform Digiturk is renewing its 12-transponder lease on Eutelsat’s 7 degrees East video neighbourhood through until 2021.
Digiturk was launched in 2000 and currently runs 170 television channels, including six in high definition, from 7 East’s current occupant Eutelsat W3A. The platform currently has 2.5 million subscriber homes making it one of the largest pay-TV operations in the region.
“10 years on from launch at Eutelsat’s 7 degrees East neighbourhood, Digiturk is today both one of the leading pay-TV players in Europe and the Mediterranean Basin and a reference for quality and innovation,” said Michel De Rosen, Eutelsat Communications CEO.
In addition to high definition, Digiturk also runs a Push VOD service.
