France Telecom’s Orange TV grew digital TV subscriber numbers by 53% to 3.217 million in 2009.
In France subscriber numbers climbed 45% in the year to December 31, 2009. The combined IPTV and satellite platforms closed the year with 2.761 million households. France Telecom no longer separates its satellite and IPTV customer base.
The number of subscribers to the Orange Sport and Cinema Series channels stood at 663,000, compared with 130,000 a year earlier. French subscribers made 8.5 million VOD purchases in 209, a year-on-year increase of 67%.
The number of subscribing households to Orange’s ADSL and satellite services in Poland doubled over the last year to reach 372,000 at the end of 2009. This compares to just 113,000 in the comparable period.
