Hungary ended 2009 with 1.742 million broadband ADSL and cable subscription, according to data published by the National Communications Authority (NHH).
The figure was 25,000 higher than a month earlier. ADSL accounted for 809,000 of the total at the end of December, unchanged on the previous month and up from 796,000 at the end of 2008.
Cable meanwhile accounted for 958,000 of the total at the end of 2009, 25,000 up on a month earlier and 216,000 higher than at the end of 2008.
The cable figures are extrapolated from those provided by the largest operators, which account fort 80-85% of the market.
