ANGA reports 90% of exhibition space sold

January 11, 2010 14.51 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The ANGA Cable Trade Fair and Congress for Cable, Broadband and Satellite is nearly fully booked. The organiser says it has received more than 300 exhibitor registrations; demand for floor space is higher than that of the previous year at the corresponding point in time. The registrations already account for more than 90% of the available floor space.

The ANGA Cable Show will take place on the earlier dates of May 4-6, 2010 at the Cologne Fairground (Köln Messe). Last year, there were 383 exhibitors and more than 13,600 trade visitors from over 69 countries. Of these, 42 % travelled to ANGA Cable from abroad.

Dr Peter Charissé, MD, ANGA, said in a statement: “We are pleased with the high demand for floor space at this early point in time and we are delighted to welcome several new exhibitors. Also, a number of long-term customers will again increase their floor space. This means that we are reaching the capacity limit of the hall in Cologne. Our event has a clear focus on the growing industry sector “broadband” (cable, fibre and satellite) which pays off even in an overall difficult economic environment. The bookings show that in 2010 ANGA Cable will again stake out its position as leading industry market place in Europe.”

The highlights of the congress which takes place alongside the exhibition are the German Strategy Summit and the International Broadband Summit. Participants will include top-level representatives from Alcatel-Lucent, Cable Labs, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Eutelsat, Kabel Baden-Württemberg, Kabel Deutschland, Liberty Global, Motorola, NetCologne, ProSiebenSat.1, SES Astra, Unitymedia, YouSee, and ZDF. All 20 congress events will be translated simultaneously (German/English). The International Broadband Summit will be chaired by Julian Clover of Broadband TV News.
