The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has appointed Javad Mottaghi its next secretary general. The announcement was made by the ABU Administrative Council after a meeting in Kuala Lumpur on January 8.
Mottaghi, 54, is currently drector of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD).
He succeeds David Astley, who has been secretary general since July 2002 and will leave the ABU at the end of June.
Mottaghi’s starting date is yet to be announced.
