HBO Central Europe has appointed Marc Lorber to the new position of senior VP, original programming and production, Executive Producer. He joins the company on November 9th 2009, reporting to chief executive Linda Jensen and will be based at the HBO Central Europe headquarters in Budapest.
An accomplished Emmy-nominated producer, he moves from his position as senior VP for production at Marvista Entertainment, where he led their team responsible for telefilms, miniseries and series projects for networks as diverse as Lifetime, Hallmark, MTV Networks, and SyFy. He previously worked in London consulting for Disney-ABC International TV to oversee format sales, development and production across EMEA; he has also consulted for Fox TV Studios International, Viasat’s TV Prima in the Czech Republic, and spent over a year in Russia for Sony working on multiple original and format productions for national broadcasters 1st Channel and CTC.
Linda Jensen, CEO of HBO Central Europe, said in a statement, “Marc’s appointment comes at a time when the demand for original production in our region is growing rapidly.
