Philips has launched three new ‘Canal Ready’ receivers for the French market, serving both digital terrestrial and DTH satellite viewers.
For terrestrial viewing, the Philips DTR5220 HD receiver provides access to all free-to-air channels on the so-called ‘TNT’ network, as well as access to the three Canal+ channels and six channel CanalSat bouquet. The receiver retails at around €149.00. The DTR5220 comes with Nagravision embedded Conditional Access and a smart card, which, if activated, gives access to the premium channels.
There are two satellite receivers, the Philips DSR2020 for SD reception and the Philips DSR5020, for HD and SD reception. The HD receivers will cost just under €230, the SD receiver around €129. The two receivers come with Viaccess embedded Conditional Access.
With Channel Ready receivers the satellite viewer can also subscribe to Canal+, Canal+ HD, Canal+ Cinema, Canal + Sport, Canal+ Family and Canal + Decale.
Although the three receivers carry the Philips brand, they are Pace products. All three models have a ‘low energy’ mode to reduce energy consumption.
