Ukraine will see the launch of a new satellite-delivered sports channel named Football-Extra in the second of 2010.
Lenta reports that channel will be operated by a company named Ukraina, which is part of System Capital Management (SKM), itself owned by Rinat Akhmetov and his wife Lilia Smirnova.
Interest in distributing the channel, which has already secured rights to a number of leading European football leagues, has reportedly been shown by Viasat and NTV-Plus.
Ukraina has since last year operated a football channel named Football.
