HCA/HCTA Cable Conference – Tihany. T-Kábel and FiberNet, Hungary’s number two and three cable operators, have decided to switch their membership from the HCTA to HCA associations.
The move is highly significant in that it establishes the HCA as the leading cable industry body in Hungary.
Speaking to Broadband TV News, HCA president Ferenc Kéry said that the two associations had agreed in principle to merge two years ago.
The defection of T-Kábel and FiberNet took most delegates at Tihany by surprise and is likely to speed up the process.
