17.00 Update: Controversy is mounting over the Polish public broadcaster TVP’s plans to launch a DTH platform later this year.
Wirtualne Media reports that Witold Kolodziejski, the president of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), has asked TVP’s president Piotr Farfal for an update on negotiations taking place with SES-Astra.
Astra strongly denied suggestions that Farfal might soon depart TVP for the satellite operator.
Should the TVP platform make its debut later this year, it will become the sixth DTH operation in Poland after Cyfrowy Polsat, Cyfra+, n, Orange and TNK.
