The restructuring of what is known as the National Media Group (NMG) in Russia is gathering momentum.
Kommersant reports that Vladimir Troepolsky is to leave the post of DG of the station Petersburg-Fifth Channel on September 1, with his likely successor being Arkadii Solokiev.
Petersburg-Fifth Channel, which is currently being trialled in Moscow but will launch fully in the city before the end of the year, is, along with Ren TV, part of the NMG’s TV division NMG-TV.
The latter was formed last month, with a view to integrating NMG’s TV interests.
Petersburg-Fifth Channel’s audience share has increased from 0.9% to 2.1% in the last three quarters.
