A group of leading Estonian companies has set up a body known as the Broadband Communications Development Foundation.
According to Aripaev, it will help build a national broadband network that should be able to offer even the remotest parts of the country access at speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
The cost of the project, which is named EstWin, has been estimated as EEK1.5 billion (€95.9 million), with majority being obtained from the EU’s structural funds.
Members of the foundation include EMT, Elion, Elisa and Levira.
