The Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom ended Q2 with nearly 780,000 DTH subscribers, or 48% more than 12 months earlier.
Its ADSL subscriber total meanwhile rose by 44% year-on-year to 725,000. The telco’s revenues in Q2 amounted to €207.3 million, a 7.1% fall on the same quarter in 2008.
Romtelecom’s operating loss stood at €1.5 million (€1.9 million in Q2 2008) and OIBDA €60.6 million (€68.5 million).
Romtelecom is majority (54%) owned by its Greek counterpart OTE. Besides operating a DTH platform named Dolce, it plans to shortly launch an IPTV service.
