Programmes from Sweden’s largest commercial broadcaster TV4 will be available to satellite subscribers of the Viasat platform following an agreement just signed between the two players. It follows the addition last Tuesday (June 30) of the public broadcaster’s SVT Play to complete a line-up that also includes channels TV3 Play, TV6 Play, TV8 Play, ZTV Play, TV1000 Play and TV1000HD Play.
“The agreement with the TV4 Group, following the recent agreement with public broadcaster SVT, puts us in a unique position as the leading content aggregator for catch-up in Sweden for our satellite TV subscribers through their digital boxes. It further fulfils our credo ‘entertainment at your command’,” commented Viasat Sweden CEO Hans Skarplöth.
Viasat OnDemand was launched as an online video streaming service in May 2007, offering a selection of films, live sports and TV series for viewers in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. It was introduced over satellite in May 2007.
