Dutch telecoms regulator OPTA has set a May 18 deadline for cable operators Ziggo and UPC to submit the conditions for third party access to their networks – including a pricing model.
Under the new Open Cable provision, the two cablers are required to open up their analogue networks to third party resellers.
According to local reports, about ten parties are interested in acquiring access to the over 5 million analogue households served by the two cable networks. These include independent provider YouCa and telecoms operator Tele 2.
