The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat faces a fine of up to 10% of its revenues in 2008 for abusing its dominant market position.
Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) says that it is investigating the platform’s actions related to the acquisition of rights to Euro 2008 and the subsequent requirement it placed on consumers to buy proprietary decoders in order to watch the tournament.
The UOKiK says it will take up to five months to investigate the matter.
