Giorgio Stock has been named as the new executive vice president and managing director, Disney Channels Europe, Middle East and Africa. The announcement comes just weeks after his predecessor John Hardie took on the extra responsibility of CEO, Jetix Europe. Hardie will leave Disney in June to become CEO of UK news provider ITN.
Stock joined The Walt Disney Company in 1998 and was made senior vice president and general manager Disney Channel Italy in 2005. His new responsibilities cover Disney’s portfolio of channels including Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Disney XD and Cinemagic. He will also serve as a Disney representative on the board of SRTL, Disney’s joint venture with RTL Group.
